Database and Options: The Start/Stop Locations Update begins a download of the current locations database from Asheron's Compendum which is the source of the AC Explorer program and database. This panel also lets you define extra resources you have at your disposal for determining the shortest route. Things like Portal Recalls, Lifestones, and other niceties help make your trip shorter.

Regretfully you do need to use the in-game download as the program converts the database to it's own format.
